A brief history in advertising: Avis Rent a Car adopted the “We try harder.” slogan in 1962 as a corporate motto to give a positive spin to their status as the (then) second largest rental car company behind Hertz.  We can commisserate!

At Panic Motorsports, we have an Avis complex: We have from the beginning. We’re not the largest racecar prep shop, nor do we have the biggest, flashiest equipment, but we do try harder.  So why choose us?

“Think small.”  We started Panic Motorsports in our backyard garage and have built it step-by-step on the passions of the owners and employees, and being small allows us a benefit to you as our client. In 15 years of Spec Miata racing, we have only retired two cars from a race weekend after on-track incidents.  With a higher tech to racecar ratio than other teams, we have the time and man power to be sure you make it back on track after an incident. If it can be repaired safely, we’ll make sure you get back on track and finish your race weekend. We promise to do everything in our power to insure that you are not headed home early.

“Quality never goes out of style.”  One of our most popular T-shirt designs includes the quote, “If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur.” There are no hack jobs at Panic: The work is done professionally or not at all, so don’t ask us to do something half way.  Safety (and by extension, fun) on track and in the pits is our number one priority, and the utmost way to guarantee safety is building and maintaining a quality racecar.

“Impossible is nothing.” Francis of Assisi said, “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly, you are doing the impossible.”  Our group of owners and techs have the varied backgrounds necessary to make the impossible possible. From fabricators to certified techs to sales and marketing professionals, we’ve had the same team for years, and we work well together, which means we can accomplish anything. Whether you’re looking for a newly developed T4 build, an LFx Miata project car, a dyno tune, salvage parts for your garage project, or a snazzy new racecar livery, we can make it happen.

“When all else fails…Panic!” So while we might not be the first team you look at for building, maintaining, and supporting your Spec Miata or T4 car, we will be the last, because you won’t want to use anyone else once you Panic!
